I aqcuired this stick from a Philadelphia area dealer who has connections inside the Flyers Locker Room. Kovalchuk changed stick models VERY often last year. In fact, I counted at least 3-4 different types. These are the only pics I found of Kovalchuk using the same sort of stick as mine. These were taken at the January 13, 2002 Thrashers/Lightning Game. Atlanta visited Philadelphia on January 8 (Ilya scored 2 goals) and January 17 (Ilya scored 1 goal), therefore I tend to believe this stick was used on one of those days. As for the stick itself, Kovalchuk used black knob tape during the Tampa Bay game so I included a pic of Ilya using the same tape job as my stick. |
